« on: December 06, 2006, 08:35:55 PM »

I was flying in from Montreal tonight on ACA421, on final we did a go round due to a bird strike on runway 23.  If you want to listen here it is.  Minute 3:15.

Here is a link to the flight aware data on the missed approach.  We ended up landing on 24L.

Yes they do.  I have had this happen a few times before due to another plane on the runway not clearing in time.  Right after we climbed out and turned the Captain told us what happened.

We went around once because "winds would not let the plane settle."  We were just sitting above the runway and floated for quite a while before we went around.  Yes, the captain did explain to us what happened right after we turned crosswind.  It was pretty fun because we were flying over Shreveport at a pretty low altitude.
