Im listening ont he west coast.

Can anyone suggest the best times, if available, to hear BOS John at work? Also, what is the usual time of JFK's daily rush hours?

Good question there. Answer is, we don't know, as ATC doesn't keep the same schedule all the time. They need to be versatile during all times the position is open, so they could be on at any time.

Also, what is the usual time of JFK's daily rush hours?

JFK? All the time except maybe overnight. A Simple look at FlightAware should show how much is coming in and out of there any time of the day.

I usually find that around 0000Z - 0300Z to be good for JFK rushes. But it's all hit and miss really, some days are busier than others. Plus as you can guess, weather can be a huge factor too. From about 7pm-1am eastern your going to hear alot of heavies and international traffic on jfk.
