Brazilian airliner crash...
« on: October 02, 2006, 03:09:54 PM »
I guess some of you guys already know about the plane crash in Brasil, last Friday.

A Boeing 737-800 inbound Brasilia had a mid-air collision with an Embraer Legacy 600, inbound USA. Boeing's black boxes not yet recovered from the site, a dense region in the Amazon forest.

Interesting to note: Planes were in opposite directions and it seems like both in the same FL 370, although the Legacy should be cruising at even FLs (360 - 380, so forth).

Boeing black boxes not yet recovered, but everything is indicating a brutal human mistake, probably the controller's. But it remains uncertain whether or not the Legacy was cruising with TCAS / Transponder off - and, of course, WHY-

Legacy's black boxes to be revealed on next Wed. Boeing's will be key to clear the whole deal.

One question remain: What the heck happended to the controllers?!?!?

This is already the biggest plane crash in Latin America. All 155 Passengers in the Boeing feared dead.
