I am DairyCreamer at a lot of sites yes.  Not every one though.  For instance, the DairyCreamer on MySpace is most certainly NOT me.

Anyway, non-radar PV?  Be uber-careful with your departures.  At least here, my PV was easiest to handle by just having the aircraft depart to the lowest possible altitude and work on climbing later.  And if someone was say at the MEA already, then give whatever crossing restriction(s) needed, and get them to the lowest altitude you can.  The farther up they climb initially, the more danger you put yourself in.

Otherwise, by the time your PV rolls around, you ought to know your sector very well, so, the map shouldn't be a big deal.  WATCH OUT and use caution if your PV has new things introduced.  I think each of our PVs at ZAB had at least one situation in there that we hadn't seen previously.

In the end, it's just another problem.  Just run it, take your lashings, and be done.  Easier said than done, but I made it.  I'm sure you can too.

Far from being done.

4 D's down, 12 positions to go.  Rumors of radar school toward the end of January.
