I think its great that CDW has a feed (based there)... but is there any chance of picking up NY APP (127.6) or TEB Tower?

Hi there, TEB is coming in a couple of days, just need to fire up the 2nd laptop.  Unable to provide a decent New York approach, I can't pick up the gnd end of the conversation.

and now TEB is up and running. I will probably swap the scanners around so the better one is handling TEB, that might clear the tower reception. For now, it's up and running, though, and tower is busier than a one-armed man hanging off a cliff with itchy privates.

Thank you for providing these feeds!  Teterboro is a happening airport, and my father flies in there often on trips.  I appreciate it!  Come listen to some HPN, it's not too far away!  :P

I made the switch with the scanners last night. What we have now is as good as it's going to get with TEB and CDW

Wow....I am VERY happy to report that both feeds are back up and running properly. After all this time, I simply unscrewed all the connectors, put it all back together, and both feeds are receiving clearly now.

CDW is coming in crystal clear for both tower and traffic.

TEB is coming in clear for traffic and tower isn't too bad.

Apologies to anyone who used to listen to this feed and gave up on it. It was definitely sucking wind for quite a while there.

I've also added 122.80 to the TEB feed (out of frustration more than anything else). If anyone really doesn't want unicom on there, let me know. It picks up Lincoln Park very clearly, and a few other airports.

RobCDW, I don't quite get your question. Nobody in the tower is specifically supporting this feed.

As someone who flies into TEB frequently, I personally would prefer to see TEB without 122.80.  This is because during really busy times for both Lincoln Park and TEB, it will be difficult to follow either, given the heavy activity on both frequencies.

Just one man's opinion.  :)

Congratulations on getting the feeds back up, though!

Peter, after listening to the feed for about 30 mins, I came to the same conclusion!

I won't go into the long story of why it was setup that way, but I've made some changes...TEB is now on a slightly lower quality scanner, but is locked as a full time stream on TEB TWR, just like you asked.

Caldwell (KCDW) is now covering TWR/GND and 122.80.

Keith, thanks!

Also, this is also just my opinion and observation, but frankly I don't think a unicom frequency is just that interesting unless you are actually flying towards that airport.

Basically all you hear are a bunch of one-sided pilot calls stating in what leg of the pattern they are located.  You also hear a lot of squeals as they all step all over each other and in the quieter unicoms locations, you hear Billy Bob asking Little Johnny where he has been for the last three weeks.   :)

Occasionally you might hear one pilot yelling at another about who cut whom off in the pattern, but those are (hopefully) rare.

TEB, on the other hand, will provide endless entertainment.   :)  You should have heard the controller yell at a VFR aircraft ahead of me one time last year who was cleared to land on one runway, but lined up for the other, cutting me off in the process.  That was fun.

No, I'm just a private pilot. I don't know the airport manager. I'm a VATSIM controller, but no real world credentials.

Regarding unicom, it's actually fun hearing the fights break out on there. That, and I heard a guy tell the plane in front of him that he was leaking fuel from left wing. The pilot reported it was probably fine and just condensation. Gotta love that!

I agree that it can be a bit tedious, but CDW is pretty quiet during weekdays, so it could use some company (now that I moved the unicom from the TEB feed to CDW).  I'll consider disabling it on weekends when CDW is just a pleasure to listen to.

One more stream added to KCDW....Morristown! KMMU.

It's just southwest of Caldwell.  A flying club I just joined flies out of Morristown, that's the main reason for adding the stream. Lots of aircraft transition from one to another, so it's easy to track their progress with this feed.  Morristown enjoys a mix of GA and jets, so you'll often hear Cessnas on final beyond Falcons.
