Current Time: 2000z (1500 Eastern-local time)
Location: CYYZ (Toronto Pearson)

There's some Cessna 210 flying VFR right now at 3200' (for the past hour or so).  It almost sounds like it's causing havoc... ATC is warning all IFR traffic that the aircraft is hovering ~1nm east on the approach path to CYYZ.  Cheesy

Apparently the police are doing some surveillance there... does anybody have any info on what this surveillance is?  Smiley

It's not normal, but sometimes the police have to do what police have to do.

Highly unlikely they will offer up detailed information on the frequency obviously. I've heard there are people out there with scanners.

Yeah, I was just curious if there was any "news worthy" event going on near the airport, whether it be some sports or other event.  It was fun to listen to... they were there hovering for a good 2-3+ hours.  I almost feel bad for the pilot, flying some holding pattern for um... a long time!  I don't think the Cessna 210 has autopilot to do that, does it?  Smiley  It kinda reminds me of NASCAR races... turn left, left, left, left....  Cool

The servers came back early Friday.  It was a network issue.
