« on: March 10, 2008, 06:55:29 PM »
i control at cywg(winnipeg center) and another controler told me at work today he heard me on 135.32(freq based out of cyrl red lake) on this site the other day. i see my freq is under the czwg#2, i assume thats cywg because some of the other czwg have some of the sectors listed in it. i tried to see if i could find what he was talking about but it seems to be down. checked past dates and still no luck. is it posted anywhere that tells a guy when it was or will be online?
thanks for any help

Welcome to one of the Internet's best aviation resources.  Unfortunately, no, there is no such posting at this time.  Keep in mind that this site is primarily made up of volunteers around the world who provide their own time, equipment, and Internet connection to send their feeds to a central server here.  Most of the feeds are "set it and forget it" types where once they are up and running, very little time or monitoring is needed by the volunteer.   Sometimes, if a feed goes down the feeder won't know until posts start showing up here.  Additionally, there may be many other types of circumstances experienced by a volunteer that purposely impact the availability of a specific feed.

What you suggest is a great idea that could be accomplished by automation by the site owner, but this site is not his real job so enhancements have to be fit in when there is time.

I saw an exchange here not too long ago that implied some enhancements were in the pipeline relating to broadcasting feed up-time and feeder contact information.   Until this is a reality, though, let's hope the volunteer who provides the CZWG feed will see your post here.
