Emerg declaration in Jacksonville today??
« on: April 08, 2009, 06:11:37 PM »
Anyone know what happened? I was heading back to work with ATC tuned in to the HAM radio and heard what sounded like someone declaring an emergency. After that, I heard an emergency crew come on the emergency freq. with sirens on in the BGround. Being on the ground with a mobile radio, my reception was in and out.

Figured I'd try out the archives (KJAX2-Apr-08-2009-1700Z), and heard some of what was on the HAM earlier, but couldn't find the emergency call. Here is some of the transcripts I threw together on what may be involved in the "incident". Cannot be 100% sure though.

***Couldn’t find anything before this point***
20:33 <other pilot> We’re going to get up above..uh..before we hit um.
21: 06  <nervous guy> [not readable] …after that please!
21:25 <nervous guy> [not readable]..not very well.  Try the winds again please for Whisky Hotel!
21:29 [STATIC]
21:43 <another pilot>  [not readable]…1-3 and use caution as equipment on runway.
22:01 <nervous guy> Where is it located please?
22:05 <ATC> [cut-off, maybe Lima??]3-0-1, requesting your souls on board and fuel remaining.
***Not sure about anything after ~25:00***

Navy Lima Lima 301  heading to 'Navy Jax'.

Just sounds like your run-of-the-mill emergency that works out to be nothing.
