I dont suppose anyone has any audio of the conversation between the pilot and the controller that was mentioned in this article.

I know that one time a meteor almost hit a 172 I was in with my dad and a CFI over the Verezano Narrows bridge. Was pretty weird.

Hi,

I did pick up a conversation between Auckland Oceanic ( 5643 khz) and Argentina 881, Buneus Aries To Auckland when they were 55 degrees south/ 140 west  on 5643 at about 1045pm.

Auckland informed the Argentina a/c of the Lan Chile event and then 881asked Auckland of there position. They were about 400 miles apart, at the limit of air to air VHF and in the end they were communicating in Spanish on 5643.

Something different.

There is a designated "drop zone" out in that area  for space junk and frequently the space shuttle makes it final approach in over us here in southern NZ.

I don't listen to HF too much now but a few things pop up over the years.

Happy listening.
