Sounds like your PC is not configured correctly.  But I wonder how you're gettingto web sites in your web browser if your DNS is misconfigured.  Or maybe it's not misconfigured and you got a bad lookup temporarily.  Did you try to reboot?

The Real client doesn't do so well with MP3 streaming, for some reason.
Re-install Winamp.  That works best.

Other than that, not sure how I can help.

What happens if you just open up Windows Media Player (without going through your web browser), press CTRL-U, and then put the URL into the box that pops up?

You can try it with this URL:
http://audio.liveatc.net:8012/atlantic.m3u

Does it give an error message of any kind?

yes it s connecting then i get error this Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is on another computer, verify that you are connected to the network. If you typed a path, verify that it is correct. If the problem persists, the server might not be available.

My guess is you're behind a proxy server that isn't forwarding for non-standard ports.  Or at least not for port 8012.

At this point there isn't much left.  Unless he has his host firewall turned on and not allowing exceptions.  Good call.

I get occasional emails from people behind horrendous firewalls that don't allow outbound connections to much of anything but TCP port 80.  There's more in the world besides port 80.  :-)  And for technical reasons there is no way that I can provide any service on port 80.  So they just have to listen at home, unless they can get their network people to open the two ports up (TCP 8010 and 8012).  If not, oh well.

Thank You. This little tidbit in the archives just helped me connect eight and a half months later. So simple yet elusive to me.

In that case, it should go the FAQs.
