I do too. it somehow helps me sleep.

On another note I listen to the Atlantic Oceanic HF feed when i'm out jogging. For some reason the static and trying to make out what's being said makes time go faster and takes my mind off the pain. Heh.

I used to take 4 30 min archives of my favorite feeds, throw them onto a small MP3 player, and take 'em to the gym. It's great to take the mind off the pain!

On a similar note, I actually had a quite creative guy send me a mix he put together - it was a combination of electronic music and Boston area ATC.  It was called Middle of BOSOX.  Pretty cool.

Yea, that's a definitely a really cool electric/techno/ATC mix.  Quite creative and pretty long too (I think it's over an hour or so, but I haven't listened to it recently).

I've listened while I did dishes and cooked Dinner (Not in that order)   . Have taken naps also while listening. Having wireless headphones that has a range of 1000 feet also helps when your sitting outside the home as well. I like Electro-Industrial Music

I have never considered archives on an MP3 player.

One of the most memorable times listening to a scanner overnight was about 50 miles south of KMEM with approach control. FedEx was wearing out 36L, C, and R all...night...long.

I don't think my wife likes it when I do that.

I do..  At home I listen to Liveatc.net, on the road to/from work I listen to ATC on my radio scanner, rather than local radio stations where they have tons of commercials..

Well, ATC don't carry any commercials other than the name of the flight carrier.

I also listen to ATCs while I am working, for some reason, I feel more concentrated at work while listening to them.

And yes, my wife don't appreciate that at all..

I listen while I'm at my desk as well....background noise helps me concentrate.

I also listen while I'm on the road for work...I'm usually in an airport hotel so its kinda nice to hear/see what is flying overhead.

The wife used to despise that I had ATC on at home but now she has embraced it.  Since she usually picks me up from the airport she will listen for my flight to cross "JALTO" and then she leaves to pick me up...perfect timing unless the plane can not get to the gate.

Funny this thread came up.

I've had to go into work earlier than usual this past week so I fire up liveatc.net about an hour before I'm supposed to wake up.  It's just better that way.
