I wish this could happen

I wish somebody could let their pilot know before boarding the plane that there will be someone who loves listening to ch. 9 on their flight.  Is there a way that such a thing can be done before getting to the plane?

Most of the time I have flown with United, it has been on. the couple times it was not, all I had to do was ask the flight attendant, and she went to the flight deck and got it turned on. I've never been shut down by a UAL crew regarding Channel 9. All you have to do is ask!
