Would a Jpole attached to the side of a metal antenna tower affect the reception of the antenna?  I'm wondering since the tower would be grounded if it would be possible to mount it to an antenna tower.  How did some of the other feeders mount their antennas?  Thanks.

yes, it should be at least 3 feet away from any metal.
