KADW traffic
« on: February 27, 2014, 04:29:38 PM »
Hi There,

I would like to listen to KADW/Andrews traffic but there's no feed offering this. So KIAD/Dulles is the airport that is very near. But which feed is the best to catch in and outbound andrews birds? http://www.liveatc.net/search/?icao=kiad has almost 15 feeds so which one offers the most military traffic into Andrews?

Thanks in advance.

Currently we don't have coverage of KADW but hope to add it in the future.

Hello Dave,

I know you don't offer KADW at this time but KIAD is very near so I'm sure I'll be able to catch some in and outbound Andrews traffic. But like I said, there are several feeds from Washington so which one should I listen to?

From the west ADW arrivals and departures follow the same routes as DCA traffic. Covered by the KDCA Potomac App (LURAY) 118.67 feed.

From the north and east there are no published arrivals (stars) into ADW but I seem to recall (?) they follow the same routes as DCA traffic. The eastern route is covered on the Potomac App (GRACO/PALEO) 124.55 feed, and the northern route by the Potomac Approach (WOOLY sector) 128.700 feed.

These DCA/ADW arrival routes from the west, north and east handoff to the feed covered by the Potomac Approach (OJAAY Sector, Feeder) 119.850. After this sector ADW arrivals should handoff to Potomac on 128.000 (?) for final vectors, not covered by LiveATC.

Another good feed is the ZDC Washington Center (SWANN) 134.50 radio that covers Washington area depatures, including ADW, towards the northeast.

From the south ADW arrivals and departuers again follow the same routes as DCA but AFAIK there are no LiveATC feeds that cover Washington ARTCC in that area or the Potomac Approach sector 128.35 (?) that handles ADW arrivals ?

Should get you started. If anyone has more updated info. please let us know.
