What is its purpose, is it ok for anyone to look at it? I was just checking it out but don't know what its purpose is and is anyone allowed to view it?

Rather than explaining it myself. I decided to use a friend near and dear to me.

Quote from: Wikipedia
"Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System (or ACARS) is a digital datalink system for transmission of small messages between aircraft and ground stations via radio or satellite. The protocol was defined in the 1970s and uses telex formats. It will be superseded by the Aeronautical Telecommunications Network (ATN) protocol."

Like I said, I was confused about what it was and its purpose, now I know to the contrary.
