KBOS Boston, MA planned feed update
« on: August 31, 2006, 02:13:13 PM »
We currently have four receivers online at Boston:

Boston Delivery/Grounnd
Boston Tower
Boston Approach/Departure (several frequencies)
Boston Final (Boston Approach Final Vector controller(s))

We recently acquired a Delta 1010LT soundcard for this feed and I'll be installing it in the next couple of weeks.  The feed machine will be wiped clean and we'll be migrating it to Linux, as we've done with the JFK feed.  The new sound card allows us to expand from four receivers to eight receivers. So...

I have one spare receiver and plan on putting it on the Boston Departure sectors (133.0/127.2).  This would enable the Boston Approach feed to concentrate on the two feeder sectors (Rockport 118.25 and Plymouth 120.6, in addition to the less often used 124.1, a low altitude approach sector in the KOWD area).

This is an opportunity for those interested to donate a receiver or pay for an additional receiver if you would like to see further breakout of the facilities.

If you are interested in contributing, please contact me privately.

Thanks,
Dave
