KDAY feed
« on: January 04, 2009, 11:50:35 AM »
I'm going to apologize in advance for this post because I am fairly certain that this is not the correct place to report a down feed, but when I navigate to the down feed forum, I don't have a post button.

Anyway, I tried to listen to KDAY (Dayton) and all I could hear was the sound of a man coughing and the theme song to The Beverly Hillbillies, as well as a Morris Code or marker beacon.

I live in the nothern part of Ohio, but I searched through my interactive cable TV guide and discovered that who ever runs this feed was listening to a scanner, coughing a whole lot, and watching the channel TV land.

I hope that this feed, and the person running it, gets well soon. They sounded like some pretty nasty coughs.

Ha.... this happens relatively frequently around here.  In all cases it seems that the feed software on the host computer somehow starts pulling from the mic or webcam audio input, rather than the line/mic input that connects the scanner.

Thanks for posting this.  Hopefully the volunteer feeder will see this and correct the issue before divulging something personal for the 30-day archives to retain.

In my case the SYR feed computer is currently located in my basement on the mechanical side, so if it does start pulling from the laptop's mic it would only catch the sounds of an air handler running.  :)
