As you may have noticed there has been some changes

One of the most noticeable would be the (Signal-to-noise ratio) much better now !

Here is what was adjusted/added to improve the FEED over all

#1 Inline audio filter : Digital signal processing (DSP)
#2 Tweaked              : Squelch & AF Gain
#3 Adjusted              : Line level
#4 Time Stamp          : UTC instead of Local Time every 30 min
#5 Date Stamp          : Added to time stamp at the top of the hour
#6 Frequency list       : Removed 125.025 133.95 135.00 118.40 120.45
#7 Tower Frq             : Late at night when ATC gets slow I may or not scan tower 118.75 119.90 to fill the gaps
#8 Livecam                : coming soon
#9 Radar                   : maybe? need to hit the jackpot for that one (lol)

Not to worry guys about #6 you wont miss a thing as these are only duplicate frequency's of 119.40 125.90 (this was why ATC sounded one sided sometimes) my bad for programing them sad

Also you may have noticed you could never hear 135.00 as it had been removed along time ago do to the strange high pitched noise on the frequency sorry but there is nothing I could do about it,  just ask anyone that lives here

Enjoy the New and Improved KLAS feed

Sounds good!

What make and model audio filter are you using?

Well believe it or not I am using the HEAR IT INLINE MODULE  from
http://www.gapantenna.com/hearit_inline.htm

I got a new Ham Radio with DSP built in I no longer had any use for it so what the heck put a $200 DSP on a ATC FEED  (lol)

Better then sitting in my closet smiley

Take care

Well believe it or not I am using the HEAR IT INLINE MODULE  from
http://www.gapantenna.com/hearit_inline.htm

I took a listen to your feed this afternoon, and I'm impressed with the sound quality (clarity).  Then again, I don't know what it was like before you added the DSP. grin

I do notice pops at times.  Is this due to the level/gain on the DSP being up higher, whereby the higher it is, the more pops there are?  And what setting(s) do you have your's set at?  I also notice that some transmissions are, although nice & strong, they're so muffled that they're unreadable.  Maybe that too is due to the level that's set?

All these questions ..... I know. grin

Actually, I'm pretty happy with the reception that I'm getting, with very decent signals out to 200 miles, where most of the aircraft transmission start & end.  But I don't mind spending the $200+ cost of one of these little critters, if it would improve my sound quality somewhat.  Landed (item, plus shipping & duty) will put it over $300 ..... awful expensive if it doesn't improve my feeds' sound quality.

I've Google'd this device to try to read more details on it, but there's not much out there.

If it's not too much trouble, perhaps you could take a listen to my 2 feeds (around midday) some time, and once you hear the sound quality that I'm having now, perhaps you could advise me if you think one of these critters would improve things for me, or not.  And I realize that if I do decide to go with this device, that I'll need 2 of them - 1 for each feed. grin

And don't worry ..... any recommendation that you make in favor of me getting one, if it doesn't work out, I won't hold it against you. grin

Thanks in advance & have a great weekend.

Thanks for your reply

I took a listen to both your feeds today and WOW don't touch a thing as you would only be degrading your feeds audio !

Mine sounds better with it on do to most likely a cheap sound card on a old win98 PC (lol)

About "muffled that they're unreadable" I am not sure what the heck is causing it as all of my radios sound the same way when that happens even my hand held and my $1000 ICOM  its very odd indeed

Now about the pops this will only happen when my Voice/CW ID comes on at the same time with ATC this is do to a overload of the sound card not the DSP

My advice don"t waste your $$$ on DSP stuff when your audio sounds fine smiley

Hope that helps

Well, thanks for your feedback.  I'll do as you suggest, and not bother with a DSP.

Have a great weekend.
