KLAS Today
« on: April 15, 2015, 12:28:23 AM »
If you listen to KLAS tower for the last 4 hours, lots of go-arounds due to wind shear.  I live in Las Vegas and it was very windy and dusty, more than usual.  Pilots we're seeing the field at 400 feet.

Just thought I would share  :-D

What makes it worse is the configuration they are in.

I mean, why Configuration 3 with winds at 040@20G30? There's no way they should be using 25L for arrivals with that. Crosswinds would be nuts, as well as the tailwind! You'd think that config 2 (landing 1L/R, departing 7R (25R/7L still closed due to construction) ) would be optimal, but looks like the winds just shifted again (350@08G19), so it should be better. L30 has their hands full today, so time for some good listening.
