(CNN) — A private plane carrying actors Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore made an emergency landing shortly after takeoff from Las Vegas Thursday, with the couple telling the world a short time later on their Twitter accounts.

The twin-engine Hawker Beechcraft plane returned to McCarran International Airport when a warning light indicated a possible engine problem, an airport spokesman told CNN.  The light showed the engines “overperforming,” prompting the pilot to return.

Fire equipment was standing by along the runway as the jet landed around 1 p.m. Pacific Time (4 p.m. ET).  Video from CNN affiliate KVBC showed a half dozen airport vehicles, including fire trucks, following the plane to a hangar.

“[M]y plane just had to do an emergency landing,” Kutcher tweeted to his more than a million Twitter followers.  “Engine over heated. fire trucks everywhere. good times.”

His wife, Moore, tweeted, “yep it is always an adventure in Vegas emergency landing and all.”  She posted a picture of the scene on her Twitter page, and a shot of the two on board the plane with the message, “taking off-take two.”

The emergency landing was uneventful and no one was injured, the airport spokesman said.  In additional to Kutcher and Moore, the plane carried six passengers and crew.

Later on, Kutcher announced a party at a New York bar, tweeting “happy to be alive. lets celebrate.”

Starts around 21:30 - Callsign 7 Mike Bravo

They didn't declare an emergency, just asked for priority landing
