Las Vegas

Just trying to see if there is an interest for a feed in the Las Vegas Valley.  Currently where I am situated I can get KLAS Ground, Delivery, Tower (all runways) Approach, departure, and LA Center.  As well as North Las vegas Tower (Tour Helicopters, Training field, Metro SAR and Air1) and Nellis AFB, Ground, Tower, and Approach (to cover N LV airfield) as well as when Red Flag happens sometimes AR routes, GCI, and other frequency's I learned while I was at Nellis..shhh.....

Let me know.  And yeah that is alot of frequency's, and pretty much covers everywhere except Henderson Executive and Boulder city Airport....

Wow Kevin!  This sounds great!  I believe we would all appreciate a Las Vegas feed!  I voted for all of the above, but maybe you can start up a feed with just KLAS frequencies so it does not get overly busy and cut out other transmissions.

Looking forward to KLAS!

I would love a Vegas feed. It's one of my favorite airspaces out there. Anyone of the above would be great.

Hey there, Kevin!

I'd definitely love to have this up! I've been trying to for a while, but couldn't get the bandwidth at the time, plus ended up moving partly out of town and range for putting together a feed. If you're that close to KLAS, definitely handle that one. I might be able to still get North Town going, but it may take some time. If you need all the freqs (I'm pretty sure you have them), let me know, and I'll get them to you, from ATIS all the way up to all 3 Center freqs.

Don't worry about BLD. Nothing there to be seen. :) HND, I'm not sure.. but definitely let's get KLAS going.

If I may ask, what are the closest cross streets to you?

BL.

I am at Sahara and Nellis.  Where the N/S runway dep/arr go over my house.  Sometimes annoying.  I can see about setting a feed up at my neighbors work (valleyview and Russel) My old work, roughly 1,000ft feet below the departures.  :-)

wow.. just as far out as I am.. I'm closer to north town (Cheyenne and Tenaya). If you could get the feed near Valley view/Russel, you'll be in a good spot. I might be able to get the same, if I can't score Panevido (which looks like it's going to be a bust). I'll keep trying on my locations as well.

Yeah I am wthin range, but out enough for interference.  But my Neighbor is a HAM operator with his FCC license and has recievers and relays and what nots in his garage (DREAM HOME.)  So I was thinking of buying an antena for my roof, somehow trouble shooting it to connect with his as well, to get a stronger reception for ground/Tower.  All else is heard fine, GND/Twr on occasion gets some radio interference mainly when Nellis planes take off or land.  Right now things are in testing and plausability stages.  to get the best for less.

Las Vegas would be EXCELLENT!  However, being a GA type, I would prefer to hear the North Las Vegas airport over KLAS.  There are bound to be much more exciting exchanges for that airport, being that it is the busiest GA airport for Las Vegas and a training airport to boot.

I would suggest that your feed not carry too many frequencies.  IMO, this makes it more difficult for the listener to follow a particular exchange and/or event, as the scanner will continually be jumping among all the busy frequencies.  Murphy's Laws for LiveATC.net number 45 states that just when you hear something exciting happening, the scanner gets stuck on another busy frequency.

Whatever you end up offering will be an asset to this site, though, since there are many very interesting airports from the Midwest to the west coast that do not have feeds yet.

I was considering North Las vegas first as a testing ground to see if I can get things set up properly.  Since it is GA, Training, and some tour Helo's and planes it is always fun there.  And if I heard correctly the FAA has put it at the #2 spot behind LAX in mishaps...Considering on average there is 2-5 accidents (some fatal) a year there.

I assume you want the LSV stuff you mean? Since we already have an LAS feed.

How did you find this 3 year old thread....?

It doesn't. Nellis control operates on the following VHF frequencies: 135.1 118.12, 124.95, and 119.35. Everything else save Tower, Ground, Clearance Delivery, Emergency, and PTD are all on UHF frequencies. Additionally, a feed would depend on line of sight with the facility, and none of those are located at the L30 TRACON (which is at KLAS). So anyone providing a feed would need to be near or around KLSV to provide such a feed, plus have a VHF and UHF scanner to accommodate.
