Yes!  I've been wanting a Midway feed all along!  Thanks to the provider of this feed!

Yes It is a great feed. I was wondering when somebody/someone would get O,Hare (ORD) into the feed smiley

That will not happen on this feed unless we can add receivers there.  Chicago area ATC, especially O'Hare, is *non-stop* and will require several to many scanners to even attempt to cover it.

Hopefully some other feeder volunteers from the Chicago area will step up to the plate.

We will do some testing of the current KMDW feed location to see what's possible (from a radio perspective) from there, anyway.  It is a longer distance to O'Hare than it is to Midway, which is why he is feeding Midway.  That doesn't mean reception is impossible, of course.

Awesome to have a feed in Chicago.

However, there seems to be bleed through of a NOAA Weather Radio
Broadcast on one of the Frequencies (sounds like an airline frequency).

Hey Dave, I'm sure this has already been thought of and you have a good reason to not do it, but any chance of adding ground to the MDW feed?

Yes, we know about it.  There is a filter en route to Chicago to solve this issue.

Tower and Approach are insanely busy.

I must listen to it at the wrong time then. Either that or I keep losing the connection, because I get some pretty descent sized gaps in transmissions. Who knows.

Thanks again for the feed. Cool

Dave,

I just wanted to tell you thank you for this awesome website.  It is great to be able to hear ATC from around the world.

I have been using this site for a while now, just had not wandered onto the message boards yet.

I have even used the archives of the Anchorage Feed to hear myself on the radio (kinda odd to hear yourself on the radio though).

Keep up the great work and a big thanks to all the feeders out there that make this all possible.

Is there anything we can do to improve reception at KMDW?  It's a great feed and VERY nice to have something in Chicago now but Tower and Aircraft on the ground can be really weak at times.   I figure it's just location but if a piece of equipment will help I'd love to hear what it would take.

I brought my computer from home (desktop model) and a scanner to work at ORD and tested it with liveatc.net.   It worked out okay with the exception of some minor inconveniences like interference with ACARS or whatever that is called.  I don't have too fancy of equipment, so I would only be able to stream with one frequency at a time.  But there's never a dull freq. here, so it'll be worth it.

I guess I am willing to haul my computer to work each time since I want to provide an ORD feed ,  but it will only be available Sat - Tues.  Each day running at about 10 hours.   I'll try and get it set up ASAP with the appropriate people.
