Military a/c landing at KLAX today
« on: March 23, 2010, 11:17:55 PM »
Talking to my sister this evening, she said that a very large "military" plane landed at LAX this evening.( 3/23) Approx..5pm to 6pm. She lives only a few blocks from me, so if would have been landing on the 24's.  Most likely a delivery for Boeing in Long Beach? Anyone have it recorded?

By the way, KLAX sounds great Brian. Good job.

I can't wait to get home. This time away is killing me.

Just right now on the frequency, I heard the controller tell a Mexicana flight that they're following a C-130. Couldn't get the call sign though.

Yesterday afternoon my wife emailed me to tell me she heard what sounded like a 747 abort their landing at the last minute.  She ran over to the scanner but didn't hear anything about it.  I tried the archives, but I guess she had just re-set the bridge, so the feed had been down for part of that 1/2 hour, and I couldn't pull anything up.  This was just before 3:30 PM PDT.

Maybe what she heard was just an unusually loud military plane?  I guess it will have to remain a mystery...

Not uncommon, I know when I flew Asiana out of the West Gates, we passed a C-5 Galaxy in the bus.    I would imagine they would use the KLAX Coast Guard ramp area.

Wouldn't a delivery to Boeing just land at LGB? RWY30 is 10,000ft
