Missing audio CYYT archives
« on: July 18, 2011, 05:21:17 AM »
A recent incident at CYYT July 16th at aprx 1030Z ref. B727.  Checked audio 1000-1030Z and almost 30 mins however next period 1030-1100Z has only 19 minutes audio and the part where the incident occured is missing.  Curious if Live ATC is deleting audio upon direction from Transport Canada??  This is the 2nd case where audio has been edited or missing.  Previous case was at CYQM.

Archives are never touched.  Some feeds buffer and disconnect quite a bit due to bandwidth issues and their archives can become truncated.  It happens to a number of feeds.

Canada has no authority over any of this so there would never be a case where they would even be in a position to be granted such a request even if it came in.

After I first heard about this incident, I pulled up the archive and listened - the part where the incident occurred is completely obscured on the recording by a clearance delivery (or maybe it was a long ground, I can't remember now) transmission. There's literally nothing on the 727 from when it's still on approach to them saying "it went off the runway".

I asked Dave the same question last year.  There was an incident in CYQM when an aircraft went off the runway.  All the archives were there except after the plane was Cleared to land.
The gremlins are at work.  Oh and I run the CYQM and I did not do anything to the equipment at that time frame.  :-D

Hi Dan I have been listening to CYQM feed and only hearing 124.400 no sign of Tower or Ground.
Is your new location too far for a good signal??

Thanks for telling me.  I had locked out the tower a few weeks back and forgot to put it back up.  All good now.
