Need Help - Blue Angels Airshow
« on: May 18, 2006, 11:55:38 AM »
The Blue Angels are appearing at the Andrews AFB airshow this weekend.  Any tips for using my aviation band transceiver to pick up their communications?

Will it be on a civilian band that's available on my handheld?

Any recommendations for frequencies to check?

Anything else?

Thanks.

The Blues will be on milair band.  You can, however, find the air boss who controls the entire show on civilian air band.  They don't generally publish what freq that will be, but that's why you have a scanner.  ;)

Too much work. ;)

Click on Frequencies, then Aviation. All the Blue Angels info is there.

In my experience, the airboss can usually be found on one of that particular airport's normal tower frequencies. Those frequencies are published, in a number of places.
