Morning all,

Just a question. Is i frowned upon if people use the MP3 clips and create a video with the clips in with subtitles so that people who are hard of hearing or just want to clearly hear/see what controller and pilots are saying.

If these videos are published on youtube, does it break any copyright or anything similar evenif the person who recorded/edited it is given credit in the video notes?

Thanks for any help

Well, at the bottom of the FAQ page ( http://www.liveatc.net/faq/ ) You'll find this:

Quote
All Content Copyright© 2014, LiveATC.net/Dave Pascoe, All Rights Reserved.
Audio streams may not be used in any third-party products.
Use on third-party web sites is limited to single streams and must be coordinated with LiveATC.net.
LiveATC.net is not affiliated with the FAA or any other aviation authority.

And more to the use of recordings like on youtube:
Quote
3. RESTRICTIONS

You agree that you will not:

3.1 use the LiveATC.net Services to reproduce copyrighted materials;

3.2 copy, store, edit, change, prepare any derivative work of or alter in any way any of the tracks streamed through the LiveATC.net Services without giving credit to LiveATC.net as the source of the original material;
from the terms of use page ( http://www.liveatc.net/legal/ )

You better ask the site founder if you want to do something like this.

I had a read through the terms page.

From what I can see in the restriction section you quoted that it is fine as long as I am not having any monetary gain from it which I. Won't and I will be giving credit to liveatc.net.

I don't mean doing it for absolutely everything, just certain interesting recordings so people can see what is being said.

I was just making sure as you find quite a few on YouTube which I gather the audio is from liveatc.net some people credit the site where others don't
