Hello. Just found this site recently and I really enjoy listening to all the great feeds out there.
I am curious if there would be any interest if I were to provide Missoula, Montana? It could include Missoula International Airport ground and tower, approach and departure control and Salt Lake Center, possibly Seattle Center. Not incredibly busy all the time, however since I work at the airport and fly myself, I can tell you there are days when ATC chatter keeps going all day long. MSO is also home to one of the biggest US Forest Service Aerial Fire Depot's and the smokejumper center, so during a good fire season, there is a lot to listen to there as well. Since I work there, I could also provide some great pics of the airport and some behind the scenes input.
I could provide the uplink from my home. I live about 7 miles from MSO, good line of sight. I have the capability to mount a roof antenna about 30 feet high. I had one before but took it down when I re-shingled my house. The old antenna was shot so I tossed it. Any reccomendations for a good air band antenna? I was looking at the Scantenna, or just a good ol' discone. As for the scanner, it's Bearcat 350A radio.
I am curious about how the scanner is hooked to the PC. I understand it's just a 1/8 inch cable, but does this require a dedicated PC to provide the feed or can I feed through my laptop while doing other tasks on the same laptop. I do have an old desktop that I could use for the feed only, but sometimes it crashes and I have to restart it. Always on internet connection
Anyway, if anyone is interested in a new feed from out west in the mountains, I would enjoy providing the feed for my airport. Dave, hope to hear from you so we can get it set up.
