New York TRACON 124.75?
« on: September 15, 2008, 11:19:18 AM »
Pretty sure we checked this before, but wonder if anyone knows of the rough transmitter location for 124.75:

From Wikipedia:
========
South Departure - 58 - 124.75
    * The South Departure sector is responsible for taking departures from the other four areas, climbing them, turning them on course, and handing off to New York Center. The South Departure sector is responsible for departures routed via RBV, ARD, WHITE, DIXIE, and V16.
========

Just curious if anyone in the NYC can take a listen and let us know if you hear the controller.  It's either at JFK or EWR, I would imagine, but don't know.  Just trying to figure out whether to try adding it to the JFK feeds.

thanks,
dave

I'm not sure exactly where it's located but I'll try to find out tonight. It works the departures from LGA, JFK & EWR that go over RBV & WHITE.

Thanks...not a big deal, but it would be nice to know where a receiver would have to be located to hear the controller on that Sector.

Appreciate the help.

Same request for other frequencies in the Liberty area:

118.17
126.8
120.85
132.75

I think 126.8 broadcasts from somewhere north/northeast of JFK.

Thanks,
Dave

I believe the liberty catskill (132.75) transmitter is at POU, but would have to have someone confirm that.

I've used 120.05 before, but haven't used any of the other 4 you mentioned.

IIRC, I've only been handled by SEALL, LOVES, BEADS, and CCC sectors when I was in their area.  Generally it isn't too busy, so the other sectors probably don't get opened up often.  Such was the case when I've visited N90 a few times.

out of curiosity, are you asking this question because you're planning on putting a feed on 124.75 or 126.08 for JFK?  If that's the case, that's a great idea.  Thanks guys,

Chananya

Yes, it's always a great idea to add new feeds.  :-)

We are always looking, especially in the busy airspace areas, to fill out our coverage with as many active sectors as possible.
