No sound from Win Media Player
« on: January 01, 2006, 11:45:42 AM »
Can anyone tell me why I can't get sound from Media Player now.

Been using it for Live ATC for many months with really good results, no probs. Now I just get the graphics, sound waves.

Real Player is working OK but unable  (don't know how) to connect Live ATC to it. :x

Thanks for any suggestions, remedies etc.

I went from winamp to realplayer to itunes now I'm back at winamp. But in Realplayer 10 and hopefully your version to open up any feed:

1. select then copy (control+c) the normal feed URL of the the feed you want to listen to.
2. in realplayer go file, open
3. paste (control+v) the address of the feed and then hit okay

LORm,

Thanks for that. I'll give it a try and let you know what happened.

BTW, Media Player is back on sound again. Don't know what happened there.

Thanks for your reply. :)

LORm or anyone else.

I know nothing re-music uploading or whatever it's called, so I don't know how to "stay on" listening to Live ATC.

I get brilliant reception  when using Media Player BUT after about 30 seconds
it stops and when I hit the PLAY button I get a recording of the last 30 seconds.

How do I set it up to get continuous listening? Or, say, an hour of listening?

Thanks for any help that may be coming. :)

I had exactly the same problem with WMP and I was looking for an option that will let it re-connect automagicaly once the connection is droped. But without any success.

Then I switched to Winamp that fortunately has this option and from there on I stick with it. It is excellent in both usability and reliability. Unless you insist on using WMP I highly recommend thay you give Winamp a try.

Kalpazan,
How do you get it to re-connect automatically to give continuous listening.

It has been going for 75 mins. This evening it stopped after a few mins., clicked the start again and ok.

Select the Toggle Repeat button in the lower right.

This is a great idea but doesn't always work... atleast for me, it starts buffering and doesn't finish so it "freezes."  Hitting PLAY again will work but it doesn't do it automatically.  Does anybody else have this dilemma too?

I just found out that WMP actually does have a similar setting that seems to work. It is in the "Play" menu, 'Repeat' option. Keyboard shortcut is CTRL+T
