Would anyone know the HF frequency that SFO uses after flights exit ZLA airspace heading SW toward N.Z. ?

8843 and 5574 come to mind. Both Upper Sideband. It's been a while since I listened to HF, maybe someone else can confirm?

South of Hawaii San Francisco and Auckland share SP HF frequencies 17904, 13261, 8867, 5643 and 3467. The primary frequency will depend on the time of day but normally 13261, 8867 by day and 5643, 3467 at night.

From what I remember ZLA (on 132.15) hands off to SFO ARINC on HF over waypoint FICKY to either the CEP-1 or CEP-2 net frequencies (see map at link below).

http://www.arinc.com/sectors/aviation/aircraft_operations/commercial_aviation/voice_data_comm/air_ground_data/radio_svc/jeppesen_charts/ARINC-4.pdf

Listening to the "ZOA Sector 35 (Oakland Center)" radio I see SFO ARINC uses VHF 131.95 to give out HF frequency assignments to traffic operating on the NOPAC tracks. According to the chart there is a 131.95 transmitter located at Santa Barbara (SBA), maybe they use this one to give HF assignments on the SOPAC tracks over FICKY as well ? Although in the past I do recall hearing these SOPAC flights on the ground at LAX calling up SFO ARINC on HF to get their HF assignments before they pushed back. Maybe they still do that ?

I notice when ZLA or ZOA handoff to HF they usually do not include a frequency, they just say "contact ARINC" or "contact enroute communications frequencies". This is different than on the east coast as when ZNY hands you off to ARINC on VHF they always include the frequency (129.900). Not sure why the difference ?

Can anyone in the LA area confirm the use of 131.95 or how these SOPAC flights are getting their HF frequency assignments ?
