Skies over Northeast Ohio
« on: March 08, 2007, 04:07:39 PM »
They are talking about it on the radio there, and some of my relatives are talking about seeing a lot of planes in the skies.

Not surprisingly, since ZOB (Cleveland) is the busiest ARTCC in the country.

It was a beautiful day in Pittsburgh today, and I noticed the same thing. Actually, I thought if I'd had a camera with me, it would've made a cool picture, illiustrating that center controllers really do work for their paychecks.     :-D

Not surprisingly, since ZOB (Cleveland) is the busiest ARTCC in the country.

If I remember correctly, ZOB holds that title because most to nearly all enroute traffic flows through their airspace? I know that J60 and J64 run completely through ZOB, with those two airways being the main two in and out of ZLA.

The resin you seen so many planes today is because of the low humidity, stabilized atmosphere and no clouds. I live in south eastern Michigan and while driving today I counted about 10-20 contrails in the sky. Just lucky meteorology.
