Interesting!

Fun post. From my own experience I would add Cusco, in Peru. The wingtips seem to graze the hills on approach...

This article has been floating around for a while, and I could have sworn there was a thread on that here. A search didn't find one..  :?

Anywho, KDCA and KJFK (In my opinion) aren't scary, let alone should make the list of the worlds scariest. The climbouts and turns to final might be a bit harrowing, but there is nothing about these runways that are scary..

Not when you have places like Courchevelle, France, Lukla (now Tenzing/Hillary.. VNLK), and Castlegar, British Columbia that send chills down the best pilot's backs.

I would add St Barthelemy Gustaf (TFFJ) to this list.  http://www.st-barths.com/guidepgs/private_air.html

Flying into Dutch Harbor/Unalaska (PADU) doesn't look like it would be fun either.

I agree re-St Barths and didn't really understand re-KJFK too!
Cusco does look scary and also Quito, Ecuador.

Your welcome and many thanks for taking the time to read and share :)

Even though it it is closed now, I would put in my vote for Hog Kong Kai Tek Ruinway 13. Several samples of this runway are available on Youtube, from inside the airplane and out.

Night approach to 13...near the end, note the strobes actally curve in to the runway!

Day approach in the rain to 13:

B747 lands sideways!

Enjoy! 8-)

Kea001:

You are correct sir! I had seen that one before...and did forget about it!

Great vid!

I think this vid was referenced by me once when another member questioned what the mechanical sound was directly after touchdown...the sound was the autospoilers deploying...

HA!
At the end of the landing from Tegucigalpa the pilot say something like "That's not fun! I don't like this one!"...about the 3:50 mark.

Oh man, that one reminds me of Cedar Key (KCDK):

And the end of the runway.  Brakes don't fail me now!   :-o

The Hudson ?

Nah. Imagine flying a Beaver or any other floatplane. The Hudson would be easy. What if your runway was something like 4W/22W or 8W/26W at PHNL?

Here's a view from the ground of an AA 738 landing at Tegucigalpa:

Very nice vid! Except the aircraft is a B757-200...
