While I don't live in Sin City, I think a feed of Nellis Tower would garner a lot of interest here....just saying!

This translates to the following schedule:

Mon, Oct 19: 2:45p-5:15p  3:45p-6:15p  9:30p-00:00a  10:30p-01:00a

Tue, Oct 20: 2:15p-4:30p  3:15p-5:30p  9:15p-00:15a  10:15p-01:15a

Wed, Oct 21: 2:15p-4:30p  3:15p-5:30p  9:15p-00:15a  10:15p-01:15a

Thu, Oct 22: 2:30p-4:45p  3:30p-5:45p  9:15p-00:15a  10:15p-01:15a

Fri, Oct 23: 2:15p-4:45p  3:15p-5:45p  9:15p-00:15a  10:15p-01:15a

Mon, Oct 26: 2:15p-4:45p  3:15p-4:45p  9:15p-00:15a  10:15p-01:15a

Tue, Oct 27: 2:15p-4:30p  3:15p-5:30p  9:15p-00:15a  10:15p-01:15a

Wed, Oct 28: 2:15p-4:30p  3:15p-5:30p  9:15p-00:15a  10:15p-01:15a

Thu, Oct 29: 2:15p-4:30p  3:15p-5:30p  9:15p-00:15a  10:15p-01:15a

Fri, Oct 30: 2:15p-4:30p  3:15p-5:30p

The first and third columns are launch times, the second and fourth columns recovery times. The schedule confirms my observations during the previous Flag: That launch and recovery are beginning to overlap. This seems to be a more realistic scenario in a real conflict.

Sorry, a bit clueless. But I'm guessing its some kind of military exercise launching lots of missiles?

Red Flag is a series of mock air battles between the USAF and various other Air Force squadrons from different countries. When I worked at KLSV, they were going up against the RAF, Russians, and one other that I can't remember.

Keep in mind that this happens all out in the Nellis Air Force range, and could be done between KLSV and KINS, so they could be stations at either one. Also, unless said feeder for KLSV and KINS (there isn't one for either) have a UHF scanner, you're not going to hear much of anything, since military comms are generally done over UHF.

Ill see what I could do :-)

Please post what frequencies you would like me to monitor and I will run a temp feed on the right channel of the tower feed

Glenn thanks for the offer...the two I think people would be most interested in (if possible of course!) would be the following:

124.95 which is Nellis approach/departure as well as their class B airspace
and
132.55 which is Nellis tower

Having been out there for 3 flags in the past, it is truly amazing how busy they are fo rthose who are unsuspecting...

Glenn,

I know how far you are from KLAS, but how far are you from KLSV? From where you're at, would the antenna you just put up be strong enough to cover Nellis RAPCON? If so, you do know you're in range for Northtown, right?

Here is what I programed

NELLIS TOWER:    132.55 327.0
NELLIS APPROACH:    118.125 291.725
NELLIS DEPARTURE:    135.1 385.4
ACC COMD POST - (HAVE QUICK TIMING A:    320.0
ACC COMD POST-(RAYMOND 22):    381.3
AF OPNS:    340.2
CLASS B (NORTH):    124.95 273.55
PMSV:    344.6
PMSV METRO:    323.9
PTD:    139.3 372.2
SFA:    321.1 326.2 385.5 397.2

I am running a duel band scanner one on UHF and the other VHF so you may get some crosstalk but this should not be a problem as the frequency's are not very active

Now as for as my DME to KLSV its 17miles and nope I cant hear the tower however I do hear whats in the air of course (O and BTW Janet contacts Nellis APP on 118.125) going? well you know......  but please don't tell anyone ! :-D :-D :-D  LOL

If you have any other frequency's you would like to cover please post them on this thread thanks

I'm at work right now but when I get home I'll  hook up the temp feed

Your wish is my command  :-D

The temporary feed will run October 19-30th

KLAS twr on the Left channel
KLSV UHF/VHF on the Right channel

I highly recommend using your balance control

BTW whats funny is that I hear APP/TWR on VHF and the planes on UHF talking to them, duel band scanner sure comes in handy !

Enjoy Red Flag Day !

Glenn

O almost forgot I hear Nellis tower just fine......didn't know I could do that  !    got to love it  :-D

Thanks magic and tyketto for the info   COOL STUFF

Glenn first of all thanks for all the work putting this up...just a quick note, I am not sure if it is a case of a common frequency, or if I am doing something wrong, but on the right channel, KLAS tower for the 1's is showing up...

Thanks again for all the hard work!

NP at all

I am listening here at work and it sounds like my receiver keeps hanging up on some UHF frequency

I am not sure why you heard planes landing at KLAS RWY 1 on the right side however what you could be hearing is crosstalk from the left channel

Just a note here: when you hear TWR/APP  they are on VHF and planes are on UHF witch works out fine with my duel band scanner so therefore monitoring only VHF would not have worked at least for me anyway

Ill check out whats hanging up when I get home

I do believe it was a bit of cross talk...just switched over to using WinAmp instead of WMP, and it seems to be working better...learn something new every day! LOL

May I ask what ever happened to the Nellis feed for Red Flag, is there any chance of it returning on here?
