TODA , Take-off Distance Available...includes the length of the runway & the "over-run" area. (The over-run area is the cleared area past the end of the runway...at smaller airports it is just a grass area...at larger ones...ashfault...Typically 500-1000 feet)  The TODA is imporrant because aircraft performance data for take-off is provided to account for a relatively slow rate of climb for the 1st few seconds after rotation. 


TORA, Take-off Run Available...simply the usable length of the runway surface.

Both of these figures can be found in the airport approach charts.
