Vista compliant?
« on: May 16, 2008, 03:29:42 PM »
I recently upgraded (downgraded might be more appropriate...) to Vista and Office 2007.  Now, I can no longer listen to the feeds!  My IE tells me that it cannot access the website because I'm not connected to the internet.

I am ALWAYS connected to the internet.  Can anyone help by letting me know what setting is off, or are the feeds literally not compatible with Microsoft Vista?

The quickest way around this hassle (I read here that there are new security levels in Vista that prevent listening to the feeds without some tweaking) is to download and install WinAmp at http://www.winamp.com  (grab the free version there).

During install, you will be asked what media extensions to register for WinAmp's use.  At the very least choose "m3u," which is the file type that kicks off audio streaming.

In the end you will be happier with WinAmp as a feed streamer anyhow.  Good luck.

Do as KSYR-pjr mentions. I have had Vista compatability issues too and ended up installing WinAmp myself for all my feed listening.
