Wave off's at JFK

Just how live is the JFK Tower feed?  I am listening tonight knowing that the winds will make for interesting conversation.  Sure enough AAL 806 and 141 both requested go-arounds due to wind sheer around 22:15 CDT or a few minutes earlier. 

A check of web trackers shows both flights having arrived JFK prior to the wave-offs.  Is the Tower delayed 20 minutes or so?  I thought I read somewhere on the FAQ that it was almost instantly from the Tower with digital conversion being the only delay.

I want to note that our feeds are not intentionally delay.  There are delays through audio encoding and transmission that are beyond our control.  We tune things to minimize them, but they are never near zero.

The delay on Flightaware, Passur, et. al. is imposed by the FAA on all subscribers of radar data feeds.

In order to clarify my cluttered mind, even though the two flights I noted earlier asked for go-arounds, the fact that the flight tracker (I forget which one, FlightStats I think) showed both flights arrived 10 -20 minutes earlier means the JFK Tower transmission was as close to real time as possible and the flight tracking software was in error?  Thanks.

Could it be that the flight tracker doesn't track landing but the first approach?  That would account for the difference.

Flight trackers (flightaware at least) track all movements of IFR aircraft, although the JFK feed could be maybe a 3 second delay from real time.
