A spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety said the search for possible plane crash in southern Archer County has been called off. DPS spokesman Tony Fulton told the Times Record News searchers have found no evidence of a plane crash. He said the reports were initiated by a person or persons who saw a large aircraft flying low in the area, then disappearing late this morning. First reports indicated the plane might have been a commercial aircraft. CNN network reported a military C17 aircraft had gone down in the area, quoting Sheppard Air Force Base as a source. However, a Sheppard spokesman told the Times Record News the base here had no knowledge of a plane crash.
...

Sounds like a false alarm this time.
