The likely culprit is a poor network connection when you first launched the application or when you were were in the middle of an update (which happens when you launch the app).
1) Try quitting and restating the app. If this fails, try #2 below.
2) Delete the LiveATC app from your device and resync it. This has cured this problem in all of the cases. We continue to investigate the sets of conditions that produce this error. We have received only a small number of reports regarding the issue.
