As a matter of fact, you are correct sir! Nearly identical windscreens. See the pics below!

Air Charter Express Douglas DC-8-63(F) 9G-AXB (cn 46097/503) poses showing the starboard nose:

And NWA McDonnell Douglas DC-9-31 N8929E / 9948 (cn 45866/138) shows the same profile:

And here is  FlyNordic McDonnell Douglas MD-82 (DC-9-82) SE-RFC (cn 49900/1765) in the exact same pose:

http://www.airliners.net/photo/FlyNordic/McDonnell-Douglas-MD-82/1493406/L/&tbl=&photo_nr=2&sok=&sort=&prev_id=1493555&next_id=1493347

Even nose on, the windscreens are almost identical.

Here again is Air Charter Express Douglas DC-8-63(F) 9G-AXB (cn 46097/503) Head on:

And, just for you american 2492, American Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-82 (DC-9-82) N428AA (cn 49340/1329) head on:

http://www.airliners.net/photo/American-Airlines/McDonnell-Douglas-MD-82/1507094/L/&tbl=&photo_nr=8&sok=&sort=&prev_id=1507539&next_id=1507093

They are pretty close to being identical!  wink
