On the FAA's FADDS Facility Products website page, under "FAA AVN Products", there is a link for "Controller Charts (CMAP)". I have a FADDS account and can access the other products listed, however the website states that these "Controller Charts (CMAP)" can only be downloaded from inside the FAA. I'm just wondering what these "Controller Charts (CMAP)" are exactly ? Can anyone on the "inside" provide more info. (or send me a copy of some ?). Thanks for any info.

I've tried looking into this myself before, and honestly can't find any controllers who use them. Approach controllers typically use charts developed by AeroNav.

Our controller charts for high and ultra high sectors, are mainly just copies of the standard IFR high charts on a larger scale with sector boundaries, aerial refueling tracks, and some other special use airspace (usually ATCAAs overlying MOAs) included.

On low altitude, there are three charts per sector. One is a sectional with sector boundaries, another is the low IFR chart with sector boundaries and IR routes (the width of the route is depicted as well), and the third is a non-radar map, which has recently been made redundant since they eliminated the depiction of holding and protected airspace for instrument approaches. It now provides basically the same information as the basic IFR chart on a different scale.

So in truth, the charts available to the public have about 95% of the same information as our overhead charts.
