Flight following
« on: January 10, 2010, 04:47:42 AM »
Surely not the first time this topic is mentioned, sorry.

Flying with flight following with final destination a class "D" airport.

When the last ATC ask me to switch to the K*** tower (arrival airport), is the tower aware of who I am, my position and that I'm inbound to land, or do I have to go for the 4 "W" at the first contact ?

Thanks !

Go with the 4 W's, and you'll be fine.  :)

You can never assume they know about you.  If they have radar, they might.  But it is never a given.  As the other poster said, the 4 "W" approach is always safe!

Who you're talking to.
Who you are.
Where you are.
What your intentions or requests are.
